The K970-16" saw is a very powerful 2-stroke gas saw with 50:1 gas-to-oil mix. When there is harder material or speed of cut is important, this saw will make the difference. Only 1.5 more HP compared to the Husqvarna K770, however in the 2-stroke world that can make a huge difference.
We like to recommend this saw for heavy users who are saw cutting every day. This Husqvarna K970-14" is comparable to the Makita 4-stroke cut off saw. The Makita EK765 is a 4-stroke (straight gas) saw, the weight class and HP ratings are very similar to Husqvarna K970.
Another new feature is the universal bushing on bladeshaft. In the past contractors always needed to make sure they have the correct size center hole arbor for blade to fit saw. With the new Husqvarna saws, there is a bushing that can be easily removed. One side fits a 1" arbor and the other side fits 20mm. This allows operator to always have ability to fit blade with a universal 2-sided bushing.
