What ICS Bar/Chain Do I Select?

There can be a lot of confusion when it comes time to order a replacement Guidebar or Diamond Chain for your concrete chainsaw. Do I need Force3 or Force4? What size chain do I need? We're here to answer all of your questions!

Is My Saw Force3 or Force4?

First and foremost - Do you have a Gas, Electric, Hydraulic, or Pneumatic Chainsaw?

Gas Chainsaws

What model powerhead is your gas chainsaw?

603 or 660 - The ICS 603 and 660 Powerheads both accept 10" Force3 Guidebar #517689 and your pick of 10" Force3 Diamond Chains.

680ES - The ICS 680 Powerhead accepts 12" and 14" Force3 680ES Guidebars and corresponding Force3 Diamond Chains for concrete cutting.

695XLThe ICS 695XL can run on either Force3 or Force4 chains but your saw is only setup for one or the other! There are a few ways to determine which series your saw is setup for:

What color is your Guidebar? ICS Guidebars are color-coded!

  • Gray Guidebar = Force3
  • Black Guidebar = Force4

Are there holes in the drive links of your Diamond Chain?

  • No holes in drive links = Force3
  • Holes in drive links = Force4

Look at the drive sprocket! The drive sprocket is the ring sitting on the clutch cup of your powerhead that the chain spins around. These are marked accordingly.

  • Force3 drive sprockets are marked "3/8-8"
  • Force4 drive sprockets are simply marked "FORCE 4"

Now you can select from the corresponding Force3 or Force4 695XL 12", 16", and 20" Guidebars and Diamond Chains .

Electric Chainsaws

536-EThe ICS 536-E can run on either Force3 or Force4 chains but your saw is only setup for one or the other!

ICS 536-E Force3 setups use the corresponding 10", 12", and 14" Force3 Guidebars and Force3 Diamond Chains

ICS 536-E Force4 setups accept 12" Force4 Guidebar #635699 and your pick of 12" Force4 Diamond Chains.

Hydraulic Chainsaws

What model powerhead is your hydraulic chainsaw?

814PRO - The ICS 814PRO accepts Force3 Guidebar #635696 and your pick of 10" Force3 Diamond Chains.

890 - The ICS 890 accepts 10", 15", 20", and 25" Force4 Hydraulic Chainsaw Guidebars and corresponding Diamond Chains.

Pneumatic Chainsaws

701-AThe ICS 701-A accepts 10", 15", 20", and 25" Force4 Hydraulic Chainsaw Guidebars and corresponding Diamond Chains.

Measuring Diamond Chains

The best way to measure the size of a diamond chain is by counting the number of diamond segments. The amount of diamond segments on your chain will tell you exactly what size your chain is so that you can be sure to get a replacement chain that will fit your guidebar!

Force3 Diamond Chains

25 diamond segments = 10" Force3 chain

29 diamond segments = 12" Force3 chain

32 diamond segments = 14" Force3 chain

35 diamond segments = 16" Force3 chain

Force4 Diamond Chains

25 diamond segments = 10/12" Force4 chain

29 diamond segments = 15/16" Force4 chain

34 diamond segments = 20" Force4 chain

40 diamond segments = 25" Force4 chain
